Ready - Set - Crisis - Go!

I'm having a mid-twenties crisis. In a couple of months I will be 27. Just ten years ago I was able to run a few miles a day. I don't even know if I can touch my toes these days. If I can I'll probably pull something. So, so sad...

Sometimes you have to give the neighbors a little excitement.

Some people know I know how to eat fire. I'm by no means a pyro and when I "eat" said fire, it's in a controlled and supervised environment. With that now said and out of the way, I actually, in fact, HATE fire! Especially when it starts on its own.

One night earlier this week around midnight, the water heater in my house decided it wanted to be a hateful bitch. I turned on the water in my bathroom (where the water heater is also located)to take a shower and I heard a loud POP! I spun around in time to see sparks fly out of the heater.

So I run upstairs and start pounding on my roommates' door yelling that the water heater is on fayuh! So Tim comes downstairs to look at it and it's making all of these leaking sounds and you can see flames (at least in my mind that's what they looked like) coming out from the bolts on the top of the heater. Then it shot out more sparks, so the only thing we could think to do was call the fire department so they could come and look at it.

So they fire department comes to the KDHood. With the ambulance. And the fire pickup truck. And the main fire truck. At midnight. Oops. They come in. They look at our sparking water heater and they laugh at us. They told us we needed a plumber, not them. Apparently the top heating element burnt out. How were we supposed to know? Besides, it was late at night in the KDHood - who were we supposed to call?

Blue and orange to me = fayuh!!! And who do you call when you see fayuh? That's right - not the ghostbusters, you call the fayuh department! Oh well. They were very fast getting to the house, that's for sure! Thanks and sorry for nothing, KDH Fire Department!

SO LONG, FAREWELL...

2008 is over! I would love to say that I am sad to see it go, but in all honesty I am quite relieved that it is over. 2008 - you sucked!

So far 2009 is off to an okay start. I never do resolutions, but this year I have decided to make a resolution. It's obviously not to procrastinate less, seeing as it's already over a week into the new year and I am just now getting to my resolutions!

I do, however, plan on making more of an effort to visit and stay in touch with my friends and family. Irony used its pimp hand on me over the holidays and I realized that even though I am in the communications industry, I suck at actually communicating with the people I care about the most! So be warned - I will be crashing on your couches at various points this year.
